Here’s a great little poem all about how to BE SEEN that you could read out in your assembly:
We ask that you BE SAFE, BE SEEN
Wearing colours like orange and green.
Other good colours are yellow and white
For both of these are seen to be bright.
Reflective clothing may not be the trend
But it beats waiting months for your body to mend.
When riding your bike you’re suddenly hit
And all because you weren’t well lit.
Reflective pedals and spokes are great
So treat your bike just like your mate.
It needs looking after just like you
So make sure you are seen as two.
Reflective is what you wear for night
Fluorescent for dusk and poor daylight.
Wherever you go and wherever you’ve been
We ask that you BE SAFE, BE SEEN.
Try and also include some of these important points in your assembly:
Take good care when you are out and about using the roads.
At the end of our half term holidays we turn our clocks Back One Hour. It will become darker on our way to and from school.
To help us we must remember two important words:
Fluorescent and Reflective
Fluorescent colours are the brightest you can see, like yellow and orange, so it is good to wear them.
Reflective material shows up in the dark as car headlights and street lamps shine on them.
It is important that drivers can see us so you could carry a bright bag or put a reflector on your bag.
